This programme is designed for recent graduates and career changers interested in working with children and families. Students learn to support child development and plan programs using current research and theories. The curriculum focuses on early learning and care practices aligned with Alberta's framework. Practical experience is gained through two supervised practicum placements.

2 Terms, full-time or part-time, includes two practicum placements.

Graduates work as early childhood educators in licensed childcare and early learning settings.

Credit in English Language Arts 30-1, or minimum 65% in English Language Arts 30-2, or equivalent. Or successful completion of GED with minimum 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing. Or satisfactory results on Bow Valley College Admission and Placement Test. English proficiency required for non-native speakers.

Online (evenings and weekends) and in-person practicums (weekdays), full-time or part-time.
