About Early Childhood Education

Tuition is Year 1 - $8,880, Year 2 - $9,400 for the 2026-27 academic year..

You will spend each week working directly with children in early learning centres, planning and delivering play-based activities, observing and documenting development, and reflecting on feedback from mentors. The programme includes four 4-week practicums, giving you hands-on experience in a range of early learning and child-care settings.

Alongside practicum work you will study topics such as observation and assessment, learning through play, programme planning for infants to school-age children, and child-guidance techniques. You also develop communication and employability skills, and can earn a Certificate of Achievement by completing three specific courses.

  • Four 4-week practicums across the two years, arranged at various early learning sites.
  • Certificate of Achievement available after completing ECE 142, ECE 106 (or Role of Play for ECE), and HUMD 183.
  • Five Year-2 practicum options (Infant, Toddler, Frontline Educator, Diverse Abilities, Administration) with required prerequisite courses.
  • Option to ladder the diploma into a Bachelor of Applied Management with two additional years of study.
