The programme places a strong emphasis on creative and playful approaches to early years learning, highlighted by the mandatory module Nurturing Creativity and Playfulness, which blends theoretical perspectives with practical engagement in arts-based activities. The course runs over four full-time years, organised into semesters that progressively build foundational sociological knowledge of childhood, develop relational and caring pedagogies, and deepen inclusive, intercultural practice. Core modules such as Childhood 1, Children’s Play and Pedagogy, Relational, Nurturing and Caring Pedagogy and Inclusive Practice 1 introduce students to the social, cultural and developmental contexts of early childhood, while later semesters expand on these themes with specialised study. Students gain hands-on experience with children on campus.
