Direct access to a thesis stream after the first year lets graduates move toward PhD-level research or senior analyst roles. It is aimed at holders of an honours BA or BSc in economics who have completed advanced theory, statistics, econometrics and calculus I & II.

The 12-month intensive programme blends core theory with elective specialisations, preparing students for analytical positions in the public, private and international sectors. In-person teaching in Halifax provides close interaction with faculty and peers.
