Bachelor in Economics

This program studies how individuals, businesses, and governments allocate resources, covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and economic theory. Students learn to analyze markets, pricing, production, and consumption decisions, as well as broader questions concerning national income, inflation, employment, and economic policy. Quantitative methods form a significant part of the curriculum, with coursework in statistics and mathematical modeling used to test economic theories against real data. Students also explore topics such as international trade, public finance, labor economics, and development economics, building a toolkit for analyzing economic problems across different contexts. The analytical and quantitative skills developed in the program are widely applicable, and graduates pursue careers in banking, finance, consulting, government agencies, international organizations, and research, as well as further graduate study in economics or related fields. This bachelor program runs for 4 years and is taught in English at Ondokuz Mayıs University, a state institution located in Samsun, Turkey. The program balances theoretical economic reasoning with applied, data-driven analysis, preparing graduates for roles that require both conceptual understanding and technical skill.
