Master in Educational/Instructional Technology (Master's)

Cal State LA’s work centers on helping students earn degrees and move up the economic ladder. The university is ranked number one in the U.S. for the upward mobility of its graduates. International applicants have a dedicated admissions pathway. Fall 2027 admissions are open to all levels and applicant types, with a priority filing period from October 1 through November 30, 2026. Spring 2027 admissions are open to transfer and graduate or post-baccalaureate applicants, but closed to first-time freshmen and international transfer applicants.

This is a Master of Arts degree program that prepares educators, trainers, and other professionals to integrate technology into teaching and learning. It focuses on enhancing creative critical thinking and exploring the potentials of technology for educational purposes. The program offers two tracks: Educational Technology Innovation and Leadership, and E-Learning and New Media Design.

Focus areas include Educational Technology Innovation and Leadership, E-Learning and New Media Design.

Graduates may pursue roles such as educational technology coordinators, media developers, technology teachers, consultants, instructional designers, and e-learning experts.

Applicants can enter the program with a degree in any content area, such as Communications, Arts, Engineering, or Education.

Track 2: E-Learning and New Media Design is offered online. For international students, tuition is below the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 92% of applicants.
