About the Program

The Master's programme in Engineering and Business Management at Furtwangen University is a three-semester English-language course designed to combine engineering knowledge with business management skills. The curriculum covers innovative manufacturing technologies, lean management, business management, strategy, innovation, coating technologies, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and production clean room work. An optional fourth semester is available as an internship in regional industry. Agile project management is taught in the first semester in a way that prepares students for the CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification. The first semester also emphasises intercultural teamwork and language training. Core modules across the first two semesters include Manufacturing Processes, Rapid Prototyping, Automation/Robotics, Lean Management, Business Management, Project Management, Technology Management, and Intercultural Teamwork, totalling 90 credit points. The third semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis. Class sizes are typically limited to 15 students. Students from abroad with fewer than 210 ECTS can use the programme to make up the missing credits. Lectures and internships take place at the Rottweil research centre.
