Engineering Design & Drafting Technology

Tuition is Year 3 - $5,860 for the 2026-27 academic year..

This programme prepares students for careers as engineering design and drafting technologists. Graduates work on multi-discipline projects using industry-standard software. They apply skills in 2D and 3D drafting, building information modeling, and project management. Students complete co-op work terms and a capstone research project.

Focus areas include Building Information Modeling (BIM), Structural Steel Detailing, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), 3D Parametric Modelling, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Three-year full-time programme with five academic semesters and three co-op work terms. Total credits include coursework and practical training.

Graduates work as computer-aided draftspersons in engineering firms, construction companies, mining, manufacturing, utilities, and government agencies.

Grade 12 with Pre-Calculus 30 or Math A30, B30, and C30. English language requirement. Physics 30 is recommended but not required. Alternative admission available via ACCUPLACER© scores.
