About Engineering for Sustainability

This five-week summer academy at HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences combines engineering coursework with business administration in an applied, sustainability-focused format. The first week is dedicated to an intensive German language and culture course, which continues part-time on two Fridays throughout the programme. Students then select two credit-bearing engineering courses taught in English, covering topics such as smart vehicles, embedded computing, sustainable mobility, renewable energy, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, sustainable AI agents, and control engineering for sustainable technical processes. All courses are assessed to help participants obtain credit recognition at their home universities. The academic content has been developed in collaboration with California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. A structured cultural programme, field trips, and connections with international participants complement the study schedule. The programme is held at Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.
