Bachelor in English Language Teaching

This program prepares students to become teachers of English as a foreign language, combining subject-matter study of the English language with training in pedagogy and classroom practice. Coursework typically includes English language and literature, linguistics, language teaching methodology, curriculum design, and supervised teaching practice, giving students both language proficiency and the instructional skills needed for the classroom. Students study how languages are acquired and taught, along with approaches to assessment and lesson planning suited to different age groups and proficiency levels. Graduates pursue careers as English teachers in primary and secondary schools, language institutes, and higher education settings, as well as roles in curriculum development and educational administration. The program is taught in English over 4 years at Final International University, a private institution located in Girne, Northern Cyprus. The curriculum generally combines theoretical study of language and education with practical teaching experience gained through classroom placements, reflecting standard practice in teacher preparation programs. Students develop communication and instructional skills relevant to language education. This training prepares graduates for certified teaching roles within English language education, both locally and internationally.
