English Starter Course – Level II

The English Starter Course – Level II is for adults who have completed the first level or been placed at a basic level through a language test. It's a non-degree program at the University of Coimbra that lasts 1 year and is taught in English. The main advantage is equipping students with necessary language skills to handle basic everyday situations.

The curriculum focuses on essential grammar and vocabulary, including common expressions and personal introductions. Students engage in listening and speaking activities, along with writing tasks, to develop functional skills using the Empower Starter A1 Second Edition coursebook.
