Master in Environmental Communication and Management

Tuition fees are 284,000 SEK for the whole program. Applications for the Aug 2027 intake are open until Jan 15, 2027.

This Master's programme develops skills in analysing communication problems, strategic communication, facilitation, conflict management and collaborative governance processes for environmental management and governance. Students come from natural sciences, social sciences and technology backgrounds.

The programme covers environmental communication with and without a defined purpose, non-verbal communication, and how communication shapes public discourse and social/environmental change. During the second year, students can undertake a placement (self-arranged) in an organisation working on environmental communication, or take elective courses and exchange programmes instead. The programme concludes with an independent research project.

Graduates work in environmental and sustainability management, media and advocacy, stakeholder and community engagement, or advisory services and research, across public agencies, private companies, consultancies, research organisations and civil society.
