Bachelor in Environmental Studies (Bachelor's)

Centre College has grown into a liberal arts and sciences institution focused on personal attention, broad academic study, and preparation for life after graduation. Its curriculum encourages students to explore multiple interests through majors, minors, and pre-professional programs. The college is located in Danville, Kentucky, at 600 West Walnut Street. Campus living forms a central part of student life, with 98% of students living on campus. Students share residential communities, participate in student organizations, use athletic facilities, and take part in NCAA Division III, intramural, and club sports. Centre has 25 men's and women's varsity teams, and nearly three-quarters of students participate in intramural or club sports.

International study is integrated into the Centre experience. More than 30 international and U.S. locations are available each year, and every student is guaranteed a study abroad or study away opportunity. Students may study languages such as Chinese and Spanish, pursue subjects including behavioral neuroscience and biochemistry, and combine disciplines in their academic plans. Centre also commits to helping students graduate in four years. Financial aid is an important part of access, with scholarships and grants supporting students who need assistance with college costs.

The Environmental Studies major examines human interactions with the environment through scientific, policy, and ethical lenses. Students apply analytical tools from multiple disciplines to study sustainability, conservation, and environmental justice. The program emphasizes practical problem-solving and critical thinking in real-world contexts. It prepares students to address environmental challenges using interdisciplinary methods.
