About Master in Food technology and human nutrition

Food Technology and Human Nutrition at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) is offered as a two-year master's program taught in English, delivered under the specialization Organic Food Quality and Marketing within the ELLS program Organic Agriculture and Food Systems (EUR-ORGANIC). The double-degree program is built to let students draw on the different research and teaching strengths of its partner universities: the University of Hohenheim in Germany, the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria, Aarhus University in Denmark, and SGGW in Poland. The program is structured around two basic semester packages, one specialization semester package, and a master's thesis, beginning in September with a joint start-up module compulsory for all enrolled students. Students study at two different partner universities during the program. The first and second semesters are only available at Hohenheim, BOKU, or Aarhus, combining a joint start-up module and e-learning with compulsory courses, followed by compulsory and elective modules and a summer school with elective modules. The third and fourth semesters cover elective modules and the master's thesis. The program offers insight into every major step along the food chain, and this broad approach is intended to prepare students to address problems that arise across food processing and food systems. Tuition follows the rules of each student's home university, where they remain enrolled as full-time students throughout both years, and students are exempted from paying a separate tuition fee at their host university. SGGW, based in Warsaw, is one of Poland's principal institutions for agricultural and food science education.
