Bachelor in Geography

At Ankara University, tuition costs 4,100 USD per year.

Geography examines the physical characteristics of the Earth's surface alongside the human societies that inhabit it, bringing together natural science and social science perspectives. Physical geography coursework typically covers topics such as landforms, climate, and water systems, while human geography coursework addresses subjects including population patterns, urban development, and economic activity across regions. Many programs teach cartography and geographic information systems as core technical skills, training students to produce and analyze maps and spatial data, and fieldwork is commonly used to connect classroom theory to real environments and communities. Regional case studies, examining the geography of particular countries or areas in depth, are also a common feature of the curriculum. Graduates go on to work in urban and regional planning, environmental management, geographic information systems and mapping roles, government agencies, and education, as well as in fields such as tourism planning and disaster risk management that draw on spatial analysis skills. This bachelor's degree in Geography is offered by Ankara University, in the city of Ankara, Turkey. The program is taught in English and runs for 4 years, structured to build from introductory physical and human geography courses toward more specialized regional and technical coursework in later years. The English-medium format allows international students to pursue a geography degree at a Turkish university without a Turkish-language requirement.
