Gerontology Nursing

In the first semester, students engage with the module “Ageing, Health Assessment and Management in the Older Person”, a ten-credit unit that examines biological, physiological, psychological and social changes of ageing, and develops skills for evidence-based assessment and intervention.

The programme runs over two years on a part-time, on-campus basis. Year 1 comprises four mandatory modules covering legal and professional issues, contemporary approaches to care, and advanced research skills, each worth ten credits. Year 2 continues with a focus on dementia, delirium and mental health, alongside further specialised study, maintaining the same credit load and semester structure.
