About Bachelor in Global Health

Global Health at Fulda University of Applied Sciences is a seven-semester undergraduate programme that covers the structural, political, social, economic, and environmental factors shaping health and illness across the world. It is taught entirely in English and combines health, social, and political sciences in a multidisciplinary framework. Topics include the global burden of disease, health systems in a global context, planetary health, global health policy, migration and population growth, disparities in wealth, and climate change. The programme begins each year in the summer semester, with attendance of at least 80 percent during Welcome Week being mandatory. In the fourth semester, students with a German university entrance qualification complete a semester abroad; international students may choose a semester abroad or select from additional modules at Fulda or another German university. Semesters five and six include a two-semester study project that applies learning to practice. All students complete an internship of 480 hours in the seventh semester. Class sizes are small, supporting an interactive learning environment. The programme is designed for students interested in reducing health disparities and promoting health equity internationally. It is offered at Fulda University of Applied Sciences in Fulda, Germany.
