Graphic Design

Malmo University is a public university in Malmo, Sweden. It was founded in 1998 and is one of the youngest universities in Sweden. The university has over 25,000 students and 3,000 staff members. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and law. Malmo University is ranked #701-800 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. It is also a member of the European University Association.

Through the training, you learn to visualize and develop ideas and concepts and to work in teams. The program weaves together practical and theoretical elements in various forms of project work . You are also trained in communicating and critically analyzing design proposals both in writing and orally. During the program you learn graphic communication and different design disciplines through reflection and work with projects of various kinds. You learn to work practically with, for example, typography, layout, branding, presentation technology and digital communication. The training is based on theoretical foundations for graphic design. Here you learn, for example, about different scientific theories for designers. You must then weave the various theories you learn into your projects and into your degree project. Our goal with the training is that you will gain the knowledge and skills that today's job market requires of a graphic designer. You must feel confident in the role of designer and in being able to communicate your own skills to prospective employers.
