Master in Health Administration (MHA)

Throughout the programme you attend lectures and seminars on health-system leadership, analyse case studies, and work on team projects that mirror real-world managerial challenges. You study alongside nurses, surgeons, dentists and pharmacists, and engage in interprofessional learning. Each week includes a mentorship session with a senior health executive who helps you set goals and reflect on progress. A four-month residency in Halifax places you in a senior leader’s team, giving you hands-on experience of policy, operations and quality improvement, and satisfies the Certified Health Executive designation requirements.

The MHA spans 16 months (or longer if taken part-time) and is delivered entirely in-person. It is accredited by CAHME and mapped to the LEADS in a Caring Environment leadership framework. You can follow a professional, course-based route, add a residency placement, or undertake a research-focused thesis. Full-time and part-time enrolment are available. Graduates move into roles such as director, clinic operations manager, health services manager or policy analyst across Canadian health systems and beyond.
