Heritage Conservation and Site Management (HCSM) is a joint degree Master's programme resulting from cooperation between Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and Helwan University in Cairo. Students who complete the programme receive a joint Master of Arts degree. The curriculum focuses on the administration and management of archaeological sites, bringing together conservation strategies and methods, strategic heritage management and planning, visitor management, presentation and interpretation, general leadership skills, and knowledge of the tourism sector. The programme has a mandatory mobility structure. Students choose either BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg or Helwan University as their home university. The first semester is spent at the chosen home university, the second and third semesters are joint semesters at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and Helwan University respectively, and the fourth semester is devoted to the Master's thesis at the home university. The programme runs over four semesters and starts in the winter semester at BTU. The programme accepts applications until 15 July for the following winter semester. The programme is based at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg in Cottbus, Germany.
