The MSc in High-Performance Computing is a multidisciplinary programme jointly offered by the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä. It combines knowledge of high-performance computing systems with computational modelling and methods drawn from physics and chemistry. The curriculum covers parallel and distributed computing, quantum computing, machine learning methods, multi-core programming, and data mining, equipping graduates to follow and apply rapidly changing technologies. Students can choose a specialisation in physics or chemistry, gaining a deeper competence profile in computational methods within those disciplines. The programme prepares graduates to work across interdisciplinary problems and in business interfaces involving technology transfer.
