Bachelor in History (Bachelor's)

The tuition fee is 11,164 USD per year.

Students study the past and how to interpret it. They learn historiography, historical research methods, and evidence about specific periods, issues, and cultures.

They may apply this work to historic preservation, public policy, and records administration. It also supports gathering, recording, synthesizing, and criticizing historical evidence and theories.

For international students, tuition is well below the median for US programmes.

In Fairfield, Alabama, Miles College builds campus life around the Golden Bear community. Students can participate in residence life, orientation, clubs and organizations, athletics, homecoming, and community engagement. The College's history includes a role in the Civil Rights Movement and continued support for young activists working for equality and justice. Miles is a senior, private, liberal arts Historically Black College with roots in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Academic life combines rigorous study, scholarly inquiry, spiritual awareness, and preparation for civic responsibility. Miles offers 30 majors, with opportunities to explore liberal arts, business, technology, STEM, and entrepreneurship. The Division of Business and Accounting provides undergraduate programs in Accounting, Business Administration, and Management, with selected in-person and online formats. Graduate students can pursue a fully online Master of Science in Management, with a general path or a specialization in Sports Management. Coursework connects liberal arts learning with practical training, creative problem-solving, coherent writing, data analysis, and real-world business applications.

Online education is structured for flexibility while maintaining the academic expectations of a Miles education. International applicants begin with the online application and submit official transcripts through approved credential services. Housing, attendance confirmation, and orientation are part of the enrollment process, and the Office of Admissions provides guidance on visa documentation and additional international requirements. Students may also encounter global learning opportunities: a Miles delegation participated in Japan's government-funded Kakehashi Project, an exchange focused on Japanese knowledge and culture.
