Bachelor in History (Bachelor's)

The College of Wooster is a residential college in Wooster, Ohio, with students from 75 countries. With 98% of students living on campus for all four years, community life is closely connected to the college's traditions and activities. Students can join more than 90 organizations, attend more than 70 stage performances each year, or take part in 23 NCAA Division III teams and club and intramural sports. Wooster's academic program covers more than 80 areas of study, including biology, business economics, political science, education, and the arts. International applicants must submit an essay, official secondary school transcript, Secondary School Report with counselor recommendation, teacher recommendation, proof of English proficiency, and Wooster International Certification of Finances. The college follows a test-optional admissions policy for applicants, and 99% of admitted students receive some form of aid. Merit scholarships can range from partial to full tuition, with awards guaranteed for up to eight semesters.

Students conduct original historical research through independent projects, working closely with faculty mentors. They create documentaries, museum exhibitions, podcasts, and digital history projects as part of their coursework. The programme emphasizes hands-on learning through archival work, field research, and public history initiatives. Students engage with global and contemporary topics using diverse methods and formats.

The programme requires 36 credits, distributed across core courses, electives, and an Independent Study. Students complete a capstone project that may take the form of a research paper, digital project, or exhibition.
