Human Body & Health

The UCOL STAR Human Body and Health course is designed for secondary school students interested in exploring careers in the health and wellbeing industry. This Level 3 program is delivered at UCOL Manawatū in Palmerston North, providing a hands-on introduction to the field. Students will gain foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them for further studies in health-related disciplines.

Throughout the course, students will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the human body, earning 6 credits upon completion. Classes are held on Wednesdays during term 3, allowing students to balance their studies with other commitments. This program serves as a stepping stone for those looking to pursue qualifications such as the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing.

Graduates of this course can explore various career pathways in the health sector. Potential job titles include Enrolled Nurse, Health Care Assistant, and Exercise Consultant.
