ICT Innovation

The ICT Innovation program at UCOL is designed for secondary school learners eager to explore the world of information technology. This Level 3 program runs for half a year, starting in February 2026, and is delivered on Fridays. It offers a hands-on approach, allowing students to gain practical experience in software programming and robotics, making it ideal for those who thrive in interactive learning environments.

Throughout the program, students will engage in project-based activities that cover essential topics such as coding, digital media preparation, and website development. They will learn to formulate design specifications, write and test code, and create multimedia presentations. This practical experience equips students with the skills needed to adapt to the fast-evolving tech landscape.

Graduates of the ICT Innovation program can pursue various roles in the IT sector, including IT support technician, software developer, and digital media specialist. They will also be well-prepared for further studies in related fields, such as the New Zealand Certificate in IT Essentials or the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology. The skills acquired are transferable across many industries, opening doors to diverse career pathways.
