Ingegneria dell'Automazione Industriale

Industrial automation engineering centers on the design and management of systems that automate manufacturing and production processes, reducing the need for direct human operation of machinery. Students in this discipline typically study subjects such as control theory, industrial electronics, robotics, and programmable logic controllers, along with the sensors and actuators used to monitor and adjust equipment in real time. Coursework often covers industrial communication networks and software used to coordinate multiple machines within a production line, as well as topics like machine vision and industrial robotics, which allow automated systems to perform tasks that once required manual inspection or handling. Because automation touches nearly every stage of modern manufacturing, programs in this field frequently connect to broader themes such as industrial Internet of Things technologies and the integration of automated systems with data analysis for process optimization. Graduates commonly work as automation engineers, control systems engineers, or robotics engineers within manufacturing companies, machinery producers, and system integrators. Others move into roles focused on maintaining and upgrading existing automated production lines or on developing new automation technologies for industrial clients. This master's degree in Industrial Automation Engineering is offered by Università degli Studi di Brescia, located in Brescia, Italy. It is taught in English and runs for two years, with admission open to holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. Brescia lies in the Lombardy region, an area with a strong manufacturing base relevant to this field of study.
