Master in Information science and econometrics

Information science and econometrics is a master's programme delivered in English by Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW over four semesters. The university frames the field as one where computer science now underpins the modern economy, with the financial sector and rural economy both undergoing significant change as a result. The programme aims to train graduates who understand today's world and can analyse it using computer-based methods and algorithms, with a specialisation in Information Systems in Management taught fully in English and focused mainly on methods for analysing economic phenomena. Students learn quantitative methods of economic analysis alongside computer science tools and their practical application, and graduates are expected to be able to combine existing methods and tools into integrated computer analysis systems as well as modify systems that already exist. The programme prepares future programmers, designers, and analysts of the information systems used by companies and economic institutions such as banks and stock markets. Teaching emphasises high-level programming languages, database design and programming, and the design and administration of computer networks. The detailed curriculum includes an econometrics component covering differential and difference equations and their applications, actuarial methods, mathematical economics, microeconometrics, statistical analysis in market research, operational research applications, and dynamic and financial econometrics. Beyond these specialised courses, students gain a broader foundation in economics and information systems that supports careers in banking, financial analysis, IT consulting, and data-driven roles within businesses and public institutions across Poland and abroad.
