Master in Intercultural Communication

Intercultural Communication is a master's programme offered by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, running for two years across four semesters with English as the language of instruction. Classes are scheduled to begin on 1 October 2026, and the application deadline for that intake is 15 September 2026. The programme is designed to give students knowledge, skills, and competencies in intercultural communication, qualifications the university describes as important for today's labour market and also useful for success within educational institutions. It is aimed both at Polish students who want to study in English within an international environment and at international students interested in pursuing a master's degree in Poland with English-medium instruction. Through the course of study, students acquire knowledge of the world's cultural diversity, develop an understanding of multicultural issues linked to global economic and educational migration, and build the intercultural competencies and skills needed to navigate them. The curriculum rests on four main thematic blocks: cultural studies; the relationship between language and culture; practical study of a foreign language; and preparation for writing a master's thesis. Together these components give students grounding in cultural anthropology, questions concerning national and ethnic minorities, and nonverbal communication across cultures. Practical language training and personal skills that support functioning in an international labour market and educational environment also form an important part of the course. Graduates leave equipped for roles in international organisations, education, diplomacy, business, and other fields where working across cultural and linguistic lines is part of daily practice.
