Bachelor in Interior Architecture

At Cyprus International University, tuition comes to 7,100 EUR per year.

Interior Architecture examines the design of indoor spaces, combining principles of architecture, spatial planning, materials, and building systems with an emphasis on how interior environments function and are experienced by their users. Coursework typically includes design studio projects, drafting and technical drawing, the history of architecture and interiors, materials and construction methods, and study of lighting, furniture, and spatial composition. Students learn to develop design proposals that respond to a space's intended use, structural constraints, and aesthetic goals, working through iterative studio critiques common to design education. As commercial, residential, and institutional spaces continue to require thoughtful design for functionality and comfort, professionals trained in interior architecture are employed by design firms, architecture practices, and construction-related businesses. Common career paths include interior architect, design consultant, and project coordinator within architecture or design firms, with the degree also providing a foundation for further study in architecture or design. This bachelor's program lasts 4 years and is taught in English. It is offered by Cyprus International University, located in Lefkoşa, Northern Cyprus, where design students typically have access to studio spaces for project work. The four-year curriculum generally builds through a sequence of design studios of increasing complexity, paired with technical and theoretical coursework. Studying in Lefkoşa in an English-medium program also exposes students to design references and practices used internationally, which is useful given that interior architecture projects often draw on globally shared design vocabularies and construction standards.
