    About College for Creative Studies

Entertainment Arts gives CCS a clear focus in digital production. The department has expanded its development capacity with a large render farm and has released new student games on Steam. The college also offers study in industrial design, illustration, and color and materials. Graduate Color & Materials students contributed to a new eyewear collection for Detroit-based brand GODNII.

CCS’s creative community includes alumni working across design, entertainment, animation, and fine art. Industrial Design alumnus Jason Mayden has worked at Nike. Entertainment Arts alumnus Dave Hardin is a character animator at DreamWorks. Illustration alumnus Mario Moore has shown work in established galleries, with pieces in the permanent collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Student exhibitions provide another public setting for creative work.

Detroit is part of the student experience through CCS projects and collaborations. The CCS x DET series follows students as they explore the city, while partnerships connect students with Detroit companies and brands. The college also offers online and part-time graduate academic programs. Its Apple Foundation Program provides free coding courses for Detroiters, extending CCS’s creative and technical work beyond its degree programs. International students considering CCS should review how the available program format fits their intended study plans and campus experience.
