Master in Internal security

Internal Security at master's level is offered by the Faculty of Command and Naval Operations at the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, taught in English over four semesters. The faculty runs both first- and second-degree studies in internal security, organised around two areas: crisis management, and the administration of safety and public order. Students on the second-degree programme build on foundational knowledge of security theory and the workings of the national security system, developing further skills in decision-making and the planning of complex projects. The naval academy setting gives the programme a practical, operations-oriented character, since structured command and coordinated planning are embedded in the institution's academic culture rather than treated as abstract topics. Graduates of the internal security programme take up positions at state administration bodies and local government units, as well as at institutions and businesses connected to internal security work, spanning the full range from operational roles to senior management. Because internal security touches public administration, crisis and emergency response, law enforcement support, and private security services, this four-semester master's degree is suited to graduates who already hold relevant undergraduate training and want to move into more senior or specialised roles. Over two years of further study, students deepen their understanding of national security systems and refine the applied planning and decision-making skills introduced at the bachelor's level, preparing for positions that require both a strong grasp of security policy and the judgment to manage complex, fast-moving situations.
