The International Computer Science BSc at OTH Regensburg is a seven-semester programme delivered in English, covering the broad field of application-oriented computer science with a focus on software engineering in a global context. Core areas include problem-solving in multiple programming languages, algorithm development, building user-friendly systems, and protecting systems from attacks. Global Software Engineering and software solutions for international markets feature throughout the curriculum. The programme is divided into three study sections. The first section covers fundamentals and gives students an overview of the programme's demands. The second section, running from the third to the fifth semester, deepens specialist knowledge and practical skills, culminating in the industrial placement semester — a minimum of five months in a professional setting in Germany or abroad. The third section uses elective and advanced modules to broaden knowledge and leads into the Bachelor's thesis in the seventh semester. Language training is integral: students without prior German learn the language to at least level B1 during the first four semesters through the German Language Track. Students who already hold German proficiency at B1 or above may instead follow the Spanish Language Track. The programme is based at OTH Regensburg, split across two city-centre sites and primarily based at the Prüfeninger Campus.
