The Ph.D. in Islamic Studies is a full-time on-campus programme that must be completed within six years. It covers the history, law, philosophy, literature, Qur’an, gender, politics, and anthropology of Islamic studies from classical to contemporary times. Students study Arabic or Persian and may also take Turkish or Urdu language training. The programme requires original research and a thesis that contributes new knowledge to the field.
