The Japanese I program at Canadore College is a non-degree course for students who want to learn conversational Japanese. It lasts several weeks and is taught in English. The main advantage of this program is that it helps students communicate with Japanese people in a business or tourism setting.

The curriculum covers elementary Japanese vocabulary and grammar, phrases, and expressions. Students will also learn about Japanese culture, customs, and society through dialogue drills and other hands-on activities. The course focuses on practical skills like speaking and listening.

After completing this program, students can pursue careers like Tourism Coordinator, Hotel Manager, or International Business Developer. They can also work as a Japanese Language Teacher or a Cultural Ambassador. These jobs are available in industries like tourism, hospitality, and international trade.
