Jazz Preparatory Course

The Jazz Preparatory Course at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam is designed for aspiring musicians who wish to prepare for entry into the conservatory. This course is ideal for students who may not yet meet the entrance requirements for the bachelor's program but are eager to develop their skills. Students will receive lessons from conservatory teachers and gain performance experience through special concerts.

Throughout the course, students focus on their principal subject while also acquiring essential music theory knowledge. The curriculum includes one or two years of preparatory work, allowing students to enhance their theoretical understanding and ear training. This structured approach helps students build a solid foundation for their future studies in music.

Graduates of the Jazz Preparatory Course can pursue various paths in music, including roles such as jazz musician, music educator, or composer. The skills developed during this course are transferable to many areas within the music industry, providing a strong basis for further studies or professional opportunities in performance, teaching, or composition.
