The Juris Doctor (JD) is SUSS's graduate-entry law degree for holders of a bachelor's degree in any discipline, run by the School of Law alongside the undergraduate LLB. Like the LLB, it focuses on Criminal Law and Family Law within a practice-oriented, multi-disciplinary curriculum drawing on sociology, social work and forensics, and includes a final-year Legal Clerkship Programme placing students with courts, legal aid schemes or government agencies. JD students complete 150 credit units, a reduced load reflecting their existing first degree, without electives, and the programme can be completed in 4 to 6 years. Graduates who reach a CGPA of 3.5 or above become a 'qualified person' under the Legal Profession Act, eligible to sit Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
