    About Knowledge and Communication

For Knowledge and Communication, tuition is No tuition fees; 355 EUR/semester; applications close 15 Jul.

The MA in Knowledge and Communication at the University of Münster examines how knowledge is created, processed, disseminated, and used in society, including the effects of knowledge communication. The programme takes a broad view of knowledge that extends beyond scientific validation to include alternative forms of knowledge and everyday understanding, with data treated as a central medium through which knowledge is organised and shared. A distinguishing feature is the specialisation in computational communication science, which gives students skills in linking and processing large volumes of data. The programme is structured over 4 semesters and begins in the winter semester. The first semester builds a foundation in knowledge and science communication and in empirical research methods. The second semester deepens analytical and methodological competence, introducing computational methods. The research module, which runs across the second and third semesters, takes students through a full research project from design to presentation. The fourth semester is dedicated to the Master's thesis, which is an empirical research project. This is the Department of Communication's first programme offered in English, and it is available to graduates with a relevant BA who seek to develop an international profile. The programme is offered at the University of Münster in Münster, Germany.
