Students of this programme can engage with the Centre for Coastal Research, partnering with GRID-Arendal, Havforskningsinstituttet, Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA), Universitetet i Oslo, and industry and commerce actors along the Sørlandskysten to gain real-world experience.

This programme asks how human activities affect coastal ecosystems, and explores sustainable production and value creation in coastal and marine environments. Students will learn about key concepts and methods in coastal ecology, and consider how human-made pollution impacts the structure and function of coastal ecosystems. Students can also participate in a semester abroad at one of the study's partner institutions.

The master's degree programme in Coastal Ecology is 2 years long and taught in English, with some modules available in Norwegian.
