Bachelor in Licence - Arts du spectacle

Tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

Université Grenoble Alpes in Gières, France, offers the Licence - Arts du spectacle (Performing Arts), a three-year bachelor's degree conducted in French. The programme begins in September and tuition is 178 EUR per year. Performing arts studies examine theatre, cinema, dance and related live arts from historical, theoretical and practical angles. Students explore the history and aesthetics of stage and screen performance across different periods and traditions, analyse productions as cultural and social texts, and engage with the technical and dramaturgical dimensions of spectacle. Semiotics, narratology and performance theory provide analytical tools, while practical workshops and project work connect theoretical study to creative practice. The programme also addresses the economics and organisation of the cultural sector, giving students insight into how performing arts institutions and productions function. Graduates are equipped for a range of professional contexts including cultural programming, arts administration, dramaturgy, stage management, journalism and criticism, education at secondary level, and work with cultural institutions, festivals and companies. The critical and analytical skills developed during the degree are transferable to media, communications and the creative industries more broadly. Those who wish to pursue research or specialised professional training typically move on to master's programmes in theatre studies, cinema, cultural management or arts education.
