Bachelor in Licence - Droit

Tuition fees for Bachelor in Licence - Droit are 178 EUR per year.

Law — Droit in French — is a discipline that studies the systems of rules governing social, economic, and political relations, how those rules are created and enforced, and how they evolve in response to social change. A French Licence Droit covers private law, public law, contract law, property law, administrative law, European Union law, constitutional law, and legal methodology. Students learn to read, interpret, and apply legal texts, construct legal arguments, and understand the institutional frameworks within which law operates in France and internationally. This bachelor degree at La Rochelle Université, La Rochelle, France, runs for 3 years starting in September. Instruction is in French throughout. Annual tuition is 178 EUR. The Licence Droit is the standard first stage in the French legal training pathway. Graduates may continue to a master's in private law, public law, business law, European law, or international law, with some going on to professional qualifications as lawyers, notaries, judges, or legal advisors. Others enter public administration, compliance roles in the private sector, NGOs, journalism, or business management. The analytical and argumentative skills developed in legal study are valued across a range of professional contexts beyond law itself. La Rochelle Université provides a law faculty in a mid-sized Atlantic city with good connections to regional and national professional legal markets.
