Bachelor in Licence - Géographie et aménagement

For Bachelor in Licence - Géographie et aménagement, tuition comes to 178 EUR per year.

The Licence - Géographie et aménagement (Degree in Geography and Spatial Planning) examines the organisation of space, territory, and environment from both physical and human perspectives. Students study physical geography, urban geography, rural geography, cartography, regional planning policy, environmental management, and geographical information systems. The programme develops analytical skills for understanding how human societies shape and are in turn shaped by their physical and territorial surroundings, and how public policy and planning decisions guide territorial development at local, regional, and national scales. Field trips, mapping exercises, and data analysis work are integrated throughout the course to develop practical geographic competence alongside theoretical understanding of spatial dynamics and planning frameworks. Students also gain grounding in the legal and institutional frameworks governing land use and spatial planning in France and Europe, and they learn to read and produce cartographic and statistical materials used in planning practice. The human geography strand pays attention to demographic change, urban growth, rural decline, and the social dimensions of territory, giving the degree relevance to a wide range of planning and policy questions. Offered at Le Mans Université in Le Mans, France, this bachelor-level degree runs for 3 years with all teaching in French. Tuition is 178 EUR per year, and the programme starts in September. Graduates go on to work in urban planning offices, environmental agencies, local and regional government, territorial development consultancies, or pursue master's programmes in geography, spatial planning, or environmental management.
