Bachelor in Licence - Portail Sciences de la vie / Sciences de la terre

Tuition fees are 178 EUR per year.

The Licence - Portail Sciences de la vie / Sciences de la terre (Life Sciences / Earth Sciences Gateway) at Université Bourgogne Europe in Dijon, France, is a three-year bachelor program taught in French. A gateway (portail) program in the French university system typically allows students to begin a broad foundational year covering two related scientific fields before choosing or confirming a specialisation. In this case, life sciences and earth sciences share common ground in biological processes, ecosystems, biogeochemical cycles, and environmental dynamics. Life sciences covers cell biology, genetics, ecology, and physiology, while earth sciences addresses geology, mineralogy, geomorphology, and earth system processes. Together they provide tools to understand how living organisms interact with planetary systems over time. Graduates who complete a full programme in either or both disciplines typically work in environmental consulting, conservation, public health, agronomic research, geological surveying, or teaching, or continue to master-level specialisation in ecology, geology, or environmental management. The program at Université Bourgogne Europe starts in September, charges 178 EUR per year, and is conducted in French.
