The Licence Portail Tronc Commun STAPS (Common Core STAPS Gateway) is a three-year bachelor programme serving as an entry pathway into the Sciences et Techniques des Activités Physiques et Sportives (STAPS) field — the French academic discipline covering physical education, sport science, and physical activity more broadly. In the first part of the programme, students follow a shared curriculum covering human anatomy and physiology, motor learning, sport sociology, physical education pedagogy, and the biological and social sciences underpinning physical activity. This common core allows students to explore the different STAPS orientations — teaching, coaching, sport management, health and rehabilitation — before choosing a specific track. The programme is offered at Université Paris-Saclay, Campus d'Orsay, in Orsay, France. Instruction is in French, yearly tuition is 178 EUR, and the programme starts in September over 3 years.
