Bachelor in Licence - Science politique

Political science is the study of political systems, institutions, and behavior, covering how governments are organized, how power is exercised and contested, and how political ideas and policies develop over time. Students in this field typically study comparative politics, political theory, public policy, international relations, and the methods used to analyze political institutions and behavior. The Licence - Science politique is offered by Université Paris Nanterre in Nanterre, France. This bachelor's program runs for three years, is taught in French, and admits students beginning in September, with annual tuition of 178 EUR. A political science degree generally builds a broad foundation across the major subfields of the discipline before students specialize further through electives or graduate study. Graduates commonly pursue careers in public administration, policy analysis, journalism, and roles within political organizations, non-governmental organizations, and international institutions. Others continue into graduate study in political science, public policy, international relations, or law, or prepare for competitive examinations connected to careers in the French civil service. The discipline suits students interested in how political systems function, how policy decisions are made, and how societies organize and contest power, and who enjoy analyzing institutions, ideas, and current events through a structured academic lens. Because political science draws on history, law, sociology, and economics, it also offers a broad, interdisciplinary foundation that can support a wide range of career paths beyond politics narrowly defined, including communication, research, and administration roles across public and private sectors.
