The M1 Chimie site Versailles, as part of the Paris-Saclay Master's programme, prepares students with a licence in chemistry, physics-chemistry, or biology-chemistry for a research-focused career. The programme includes a two-month compulsory stage in a company, laboratory, or university, enabling students to apply their knowledge and develop professional skills. The first semester of the M1 covers a generalist curriculum in chemistry, including structural characterisations, functionalisation/modification of surfaces, and chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. The second semester allows students to specialise in either Organic Chemistry (CO) or Inorganic, Physical and Solid Chemistry (CHIPS). Modules such as 'Spectroscopies du solide' and 'Structure électronique et magnétisme : de la molécule au solide' are part of the CHIPS pathway, while the CO pathway offers subjects like 'Synthèse asymétrique-organocatalyse et synthèse peptidique' and 'Hétéroéléments et fluor'.
