Master Energie

For Master Energie, tuition fees are 250 EUR per year.

The Master Energie at Université de Guyane is a two-year graduate program taught in French at the university's site in Cayenne Cedex, France. Energy studies form an interdisciplinary field that combines physics, engineering, and increasingly environmental and economic considerations, focused on how energy is produced, converted, stored, distributed, and consumed. Students in a program of this kind typically study thermodynamics, electrical engineering, renewable energy technologies such as solar and biomass systems, energy storage, and the design of power networks. Given that the program is based in French Guiana, coursework in energy programs there often has practical relevance to tropical and off-grid contexts, including decentralized power generation and the integration of renewable sources into local grids. Modules commonly cover energy policy and regulation, the economics of energy markets, and methods for assessing the environmental impact of different energy sources. Laboratory and project work typically allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to the design or evaluation of energy systems, from small-scale installations to grid-level infrastructure. Graduates of energy master's programs generally go on to work as engineers or project managers within utility companies, renewable energy developers, engineering consultancies, and public agencies responsible for energy planning. Others move into research roles, working on the development of new energy technologies or on strategies for reducing carbon emissions in industry and transport. The field continues to draw interest from students seeking careers connected to the transition toward lower-carbon energy systems. The Master Energie begins in September and runs over two years of full-time study, with yearly tuition of 250 EUR. All instruction is delivered in French, and applicants should be prepared to study the technical curriculum in that language.
