Master Informatique — Fiabilité et sécurité informatique (FSI)

For Master Informatique — Fiabilité et sécurité informatique (FSI), tuition comes to 250 EUR per year.

Fiabilité et sécurité informatique (FSI), or computer reliability and security, is a track of the Master Informatique at Aix-Marseille Université, based in Marseille, France. This area of computer science focuses on building systems that behave correctly and resist attack, covering subjects such as cryptography, network security, formal verification, software testing, and the design of fault-tolerant systems. Students typically study how to identify vulnerabilities in software and networks, how to prove or test that a system meets its specifications, and how to design architectures that keep operating even when components fail or are attacked. The discipline sits at the intersection of theoretical computer science, since formal methods and cryptography rely on mathematical foundations, and applied engineering, since security and reliability ultimately have to be built into real software and infrastructure. Coursework commonly includes hands-on work with security tools, penetration testing exercises, and projects that require students to both attack and defend systems in controlled settings, alongside more theoretical study of algorithms and formal proof techniques. Graduates from security and reliability programs typically work as security analysts, penetration testers, systems engineers, or software developers in sectors ranging from finance and telecommunications to government, and some continue toward research in cybersecurity. The program is a 2-year master's degree delivered in French, with an inferred start date in September, and yearly tuition of 250 EUR.

Aix-Marseille University is the largest multidisciplinary French-speaking university, hosting 80,000 students and 8,000 staff across five large campuses. It is a research-intensive institution known for its international outlook and commitment to academic excellence.
