Master Informatique — Intelligence artificielle et science des données

Tuition fees for Master Informatique — Intelligence artificielle et science des données are 250 EUR per year.

Université de Montpellier, in Montpellier, France, offers this master's degree in Computer Science, or Informatique, with a specialization in artificial intelligence and data science. Computer science at this level builds on foundations in algorithms, programming, and software systems while developing more specialized expertise in how machines process, learn from, and reason over data. Students in an artificial intelligence and data science track typically study machine learning, statistical methods, data mining, and the mathematical foundations behind these techniques, alongside practical work building and evaluating models on real datasets. Coursework often covers programming for data analysis, database systems, and the software engineering practices needed to build and deploy data-driven applications, as well as topics such as natural language processing, computer vision, or knowledge representation depending on the program's focus. Students also examine questions around the reliability, evaluation, and responsible use of automated systems as part of a broader computer science education. Career paths for graduates in this field include data scientist, machine learning engineer, research and development roles in artificial intelligence, software engineering positions with a data focus, and analytics roles across industries such as finance, healthcare, or technology. Others continue toward doctoral research in computer science or applied mathematics. The program is structured as two years of full-time study, starting in September, with a yearly tuition of 250 EUR. Instruction is conducted in French, so students need to be comfortable following technical coursework, project work, and assessments in French throughout their studies, in addition to the technical and mathematical background the field requires.
