Master Mathematiques Et Applications

Tuition comes to 250 EUR per year.

Université de Lille, in Villeneuve D'Ascq, offers a Master Mathematiques Et Applications, a two-year graduate program in applied mathematics taught in French. This track within mathematics emphasizes the use of mathematical tools to solve concrete problems, typically covering subjects such as numerical analysis, optimization, statistics, mathematical modeling, and scientific computing, alongside foundational coursework in analysis and algebra. Students generally work on applying these methods to areas such as engineering, finance, biology, or data science, depending on the options available within the program. A master's in applied mathematics is designed to prepare graduates for roles that combine quantitative modeling with computational skills, including positions as data analysts, quantitative researchers, statisticians, or engineers working on modeling problems, as well as for continued doctoral study. Because the emphasis is on application rather than pure theory alone, graduates often find opportunities in industry sectors such as technology, energy, banking, and consulting, where they can translate mathematical models into practical decision-making tools. The program starts in September and lasts two years, with all instruction in French, so applicants should have solid French language proficiency along with an undergraduate background in mathematics or a closely related quantitative field. Yearly tuition is 250 EUR. Located in Villeneuve D'Ascq, part of the greater Lille metropolitan area, the university is positioned within a significant education and research hub in northern France. Prospective students should be comfortable with both abstract mathematical reasoning and computational tools, since applied mathematics programs typically blend theory with hands-on modeling work.
