Master Mathematiques

Tuition fees are 250 EUR per year.

Université de Picardie Jules-Verne offers the Master Mathematiques in Amiens Cedex 1, France, a two-year graduate program taught in French. Mathematics at the graduate level typically builds on foundations in algebra, analysis, and probability to study more advanced and specialized areas such as differential equations, functional analysis, statistics, numerical methods, or discrete mathematics, depending on the direction a program emphasizes. Students commonly work through rigorous problem sets and proofs, developing abstract reasoning skills alongside computational techniques, and often use mathematical software for modeling and simulation. Coursework can also include applied topics such as mathematical modeling for physics, engineering, or finance, as mathematics graduates are frequently sought for their analytical and quantitative skills across many sectors. Research-oriented tracks may involve an extended project or dissertation under faculty supervision, introducing students to current problems in a chosen subfield of mathematics. Because mathematical training develops transferable problem-solving and logical reasoning abilities, graduates find opportunities well beyond pure research, including roles in data analysis, actuarial science, finance, engineering, software development, and teaching. Those aiming for academic careers typically continue into doctoral study following a program like this one. The program is conducted entirely in French, so applicants should have a strong command of the language alongside their mathematical background. It is scheduled to begin in September, with a yearly tuition of 250 EUR. Based in Amiens, a city in the Hauts-de-France region, the program is part of a university with a broader science and technology offering.
